To avoid issues caused by syncing time from multiple sources, we suggest setting up only one method from hardware to Sync the time.

To avoid NTP mismatching, we suggest setting up NTP for none/all devices in a system, NTP settings will not pass down from the recorder to cameras automatically.

There is no need to set up time/timezone/NTP/DST for cameras connected with NVR POE since the NVR will overwrite the time to these cameras.

Examples:

For the camera-only system, we suggest setting up NTP and DST on all cameras.

For NVR-switch—IPC system. we suggest setting up NTP on the NVR, Setting up DST on the NVR and IPCs, and setting up sync time to cameras.

For Software-NVR-switch—IPC system. we suggest setting up NTP on the NVR, Setting up DST on the NVR and IPCs, and setting up sync time to cameras. And turn off the sync function from the software.
