Understand ASC Unlock pattern and settings

Sometimes users will be confused with Public passwords, Personal passwords,  card unlock, duress, and related combination. Let's explain them one by one first.

 

ASC2202B-D is a 2 Door Two-way Access Controller means it can support 2 doors and up to 2 readers for each door.

Public Passwords

Unlock Format: Password#

Example: 123456# if the password is 123456

Note: The Public password is based on Door, no duress, and will ignore the personal unlock combination.

How to create a Public Password:

1. check and enable the function 

2. Add a public password and apply it to the related Door(s).

Personal Passwords and Card 

Personal Password unlock Format: ID#Password#

Example: 012#123456# if the password is 123456, and the ID is 012

Note:  0 in ID cannot be ignored, ID 12 and ID 012  will be treated as two different users.

How to create a Personal Password:

1. Create a user and edit the ID, password, and validity.

2. apply the personnel to a permission group, at least one door group should belong to the permission group.

How to add a Personal card

We can use a card reader to get the card number by selecting the device and pressing the card.

How to set the Duress function

Ensure the Duress function for each door has been turned on.

Duress Password

Duress Format:  ID#Password(last digit plus one, 9->0)#

Example:

012#123457# if the password is 123456, and the ID is 012

011#999990# if the password is 999999, and the ID is 011

Note: The Duress method will unlock the door and with one alarm, users can set alarm linkage based on this.

Duress Card

Click the option to use the card and a Duress card.

Unlock Combination

We can set multi-verification to unlock, the method can be followed by OR or AND or time period rules.

AND Unlock Order(if enable all, at least 2 verifications):

Press the card->Press the finger->enter the Personal Password

Note:  If under the AND mode, Personal Password no need to enter the ID

Example: Press the card->Press the finger->123456# if the Personal Password is 123456.

Duress Password and Duress Card

Either the combination of Duress or Personal card and password can unlock the door,  but the Duress method will trigger the alarm once, so using Duress Card and Duress Password will trigger the alarm twice.
